Earrings are the piece of jewellery most worn every day, and therefore the one where the condition of the fastening matters as much as the stone. Push backs, omega backs, clips or lever-backs: each system has its own wear points, which we check before a piece is put on sale in Saint-Tropez.
| Type | Use |
|---|---|
| Studs | Diamond or single stone, worn all the time |
| Hoops | From mini hoops to large ones, in plain or set gold |
| Drops | Evening pieces, movement and length |
| Lever-backs | Antique settings, hinged fastening |
| Clips | No piercing needed, frequent in vintage jewellery |
On a pair of studs, matching counts as much as the quality of each stone: two diamonds of slightly different colour or size are noticed immediately once worn. We systematically check that the two stones match, as well as the soundness of the prongs, the first point where a solitaire gets lost.
It is often possible on an antique setting, but the work alters the piece and may affect its collector's value. We discuss it with you case by case.
They are checked and, if necessary, replaced with push backs matching the gold fineness of the piece.
Our stock changes every week. Tell us the house, the type of setting and your budget: we will let you know as soon as a matching piece arrives.
