The Oyster Perpetual is Rolex in its purest form: a waterproof Oyster case, a self-winding Perpetual movement, a dial with neither date nor complication. It is the foundation on which the whole collection has been built since 1926, and the most elegant way into the brand.
Since 2020, it has also become the most desirable. That year, Rolex introduced a series of vivid lacquered dials, turquoise, candy yellow, coral, green and pink, which created an unexpected craze and waiting lists on references that had until then been readily available. In 2023 came the Celebration dial, scattered with multicoloured bubbles. Every piece sold by Francine Joaillerie, in Saint-Tropez, is authenticated and guaranteed.
| Reference | Diameter | Calibre |
|---|---|---|
| 276200 | 28 mm | 2232 |
| 277200 | 31 mm | 2232 |
| 126000 | 36 mm | 3230 |
| 124300 | 41 mm | 3230 |
Oystersteel case, smooth bezel, sapphire crystal, water resistant to 100 metres, 70 hours of power reserve on calibres 3230 and 2232.
The four diameters suit every wrist, which makes the Oyster Perpetual one of the few truly unisex Rolex watches. The 36 mm is today the most requested size, by women as well as by men looking for classic proportions. The 41 mm is for those who want the presence of a sports watch without a rotating bezel.
The Datejust adds the date window with a Cyclops lens and, most often, a fluted gold bezel. The Oyster Perpetual has no date and a smooth steel bezel: more understated, and generally more accessible.
The catalogue changes regularly and some shades have been withdrawn, which has driven up their value on the pre-owned market. The turquoise of the 41 mm is the clearest example.
Yes. It gives access to the Oyster case, the Superlative Chronometer certified movement and the brand's quality of finish, in its most timeless version.
