Unveiled in 2012, the Sky-Dweller is the most sophisticated watch in the Rolex catalogue. It combines two complications rarely found together: a second time zone read on an off-centre disc in the middle of the dial, and a Saros annual calendar that automatically distinguishes between months of 30 and 31 days thanks to a satellite gear mechanism. Only one correction a year, on 1 March.
The current month is shown by a small coloured window aligned with each of the twelve hour markers, a display solution never seen before. Everything is set through the Ring Command bezel, which acts as a function selector. At Francine Joaillerie, in Saint-Tropez, every Sky-Dweller is authenticated and guaranteed.

42 mm Oyster case, water resistant to 100 metres, 72 hours of power reserve, fluted or smooth Ring Command bezel.
Where the GMT-Master II is aimed at flight crews, the Sky-Dweller is for those who cross time zones in a suit. Its 42 mm case remains dressy, its bezel is not graduated, and the second time zone, on a 24 hour scale, is read at a glance in the centre of the dial. It is the Rolex closest to a classic haute horlogerie watch.
Turning it selects the function to be set: date, local time, reference time. The crown then acts on the chosen element. It is this system that makes setting the watch intuitive despite the complexity of the movement.
No. It is always offered in Rolesor, in gold or in Everose, never in Oystersteel alone.
Calibre 9001 is a complex movement, but its servicing follows the same schedule as other Rolex watches. Every watch we sell is checked for its timekeeping and its power reserve before being put on sale.
